Clastic Constructed Series

The word clastic means composed of separate components. This series explores the reclamation and transformation of mundane, unpretentious materials into large scale, lightweight bas relief sculptures. Fabric, fiberboard, plastic, fiberglass, gesso, wood, wire, paint, etc are used in their assemblage. The theme of incremental, geometrical tessellated forms found in these artworks mirror nature's packing systems. These cellular structures use natural resources with efficiency and economy. They are related to the same formations found in soap film bubbles, crystals and honeycombs in nature.

Works of this nature are suitable for large public spaces or smaller intimate environments.
